Storm Amy at West Wittering

West Wittering beach was hammered with 55 knots gusts on Saturday – Storm Amy blew through pretty hard throughout the day – windsurfers were out enjoying the conditions, pictured is Gert Attard from Surrey who had driven down especially for the strong wind forecast and was out using a very small 3.4m windsurfing sail jumping the waves and enjoying the conditions.

Lots of windsurfers and kiters were out during the day – many of the windsurfers had come down to practise and get ready for the 2XS West Wittering Wave Classic, a windsurfing wave event which is happening at the end of October – the final event for the British Wavesailing Tour and the decider for the overall 2025 champions in numerous catagories – there will be Pro’s, Amatuers, Masters and Youths competing and people will be travelling as far as the Outer Hebrides in Scotland to join the strong local contingent who are looking to make their names at this national ranked competition.
